Topwall TIR's maintained at well below 10 microns for extended production periods at canmaking speeds of 450cpm are a reality with the latest advances in Bodymaker technology from CarnaudMetalbox Engineering.

Existing 5000 Bodymaker customers can now take full advantage of our latest 5000 Bodymaker technology by fitting our one piece bushing upgrade

The new one piece front bushing, developed with the aid of a Kaymen Dynamic Analyser, increases the ram's dynamic stability when compared to the existing two single bush arrangement and eliminates the difficulties associated with alignment and set-up.

  • The bronze hydrostatic bushes are replaced by close toleranced bushes made from a low friction composite material, with significantly improved anti-corrosion and anti-seize properties.
  • Maintains all the advantages of the original one-piece bush design
  • High pressure oil is no longer required, eliminating the need for small sized jets
  • Bushes are now fed with low pressure coolant via a totally enclosed chamber around the ram, helping maintain a more constant ram and bush temperature with improved dynamic ram stability
  • The Seal Pack is situated at the rear (crankcase end) of the bush housing, increasing the distance between the bushes and allowing them to be extended closer to the redraw die, improving ram/die alignment
  • One in a series of upgrades for 5000 Bodymakers to the latest standards
  • Full fitting and commissioning services ensure machines perform at the same quality levels as the latest 5000 machines.
